Why it's Important to Take Care of Your Sweet Self

ruffcolette

I hope everyone is enjoying this hint of spring in the middle of winter. Today is the midpoint

between the winter solstice and spring equinox called imbolc. We will see daylight growing a bit

longer each day during this part of winter. The seeds we have planted and put our focused energy

on during this season, are preparing to rise above the ground and spread out into the world.

Time is energy. Everything is energy. That's why they say, whatever you focus and put your

energy into, grows. I believe, whatever energy you match with and focus on, has the tendency to

grow, improve and give you what you need. It basically enhances your life.

So when we focus our energy into our beautiful bodies, minds and spirit and all facets that make

us who we are in essence; we emanate the energy we have just gifted ourselves. Whether it's

moving our body, eating an incredible beet salad, meditating, a dance party in the kitchen, eating

a chocolate truffle, making love under the stars or eating a pint of ice cream, it's all pleasure.

When we give ourselves what we need, want, and desire; it essentially lights us up and brings

more joy, so why not do it every damn day.

I'm not talking about focusing on yourself every minute of the day but for an hour or two out of

the 24, set aside a sacred space to be in, for as long as it takes for your body to relax, process,

release and give thanks for the time you spent focusing on your sweet self. When we care for

ourselves the whole world benefits, especially those around you and your energy increases. You

essentially reboot yourself.

Every cell of your body sings and lights up when we pay attention to our well being. Think about

the child that lights up when it is getting attention and love. Our systems react the same way.

Even when we look in the mirror and give gratitude for our beautiful faces and essence, we light

up. The fact that we are fortunate to get up in the morning is a gift. Sometimes loving ourselves

is hard when we start judging. No judgement, no guilt, only love and gratitude for these beautiful

vessels we get to evolve in.

When we continue caring for ourselves it always responds in kind... always. Be gentle with

yourself. No need to rush, be where you are, know where you are going and always savour the

moments. What needs to get done will, everything in divine time. There is no reason to focus on

the "have tos" or "who else is going to do it", our conditioning, or guilt. NO you don't have to do

anything you don't want to do. That's empowering, choosing yourself and your well being over

all. No one should dim their light or move into the shadow because someone else wants to shine.

We can all shine and when we are all shining we connect and get brighter and brighter. Be an

example of what it feels like to be too much, a total light being and not feel guilty or selfish

because you are literally being all of who you are. All of it. Who wouldn't want to nourish that

and tend to every essence of "I am".

With love,

Colette
